About Kati
I was born and raised in northwestern Illinois and southern Wisconsin, living with my parents, my younger sister, and our cat. I was a tomboy for the first 17 years of my life so the "beauty business" had never crossed my mind... I wanted to be an accountant or an architect when I grew up. But God has His plans and the plans for my future did not hold either of those positions.

I ended up graduating from college with an interior design degree... after skipping around between a few other majors. I ended up working for a number of small businesses in a variety of fields and that sparked my interest in running my own business someday. This turned out to be a great experience for my own home-based businesses, as I have recently moved into working from home full time! I love the freedom and flexibility that such a position offers. My family is very important to me and the ability to make plans at a moment's notice or to be there when someone needs help is my #1 goal and priority. To visit my grandma after surgery or to help my parents in their store - without needing someone's permission to take off for a few days - that is my ideal situation.

And that's why I work so hard for you, my valued customers - I only want success in my business so I can help others in the process!

How I Got Started in the Beauty Business
My parents were surprised when I called them one April evening in 2000 and announced "Guess what? I'm a beauty consultant!" After all, I'd been a tomboy for most of my life and was not one to wear much makeup. And I didn't wear pink... ever!

I had been invited to a "pizza and makeovers" event by one of my friends who had just started her own business. Being a broke college student, I agreed to go for the free food and the promise of a discount off my order that night. As I munched on my pizza, a sharp lady got up and told about the company and all it had to offer. The things that attracted me to the company were small things... the products worked on my sensitive combination skin... the women were all very happy and seemed to get along... and there was money, trips, and fun to be had by all. After more than a decade, I still enjoy these things, but I've also gained so much more! I have some of the dearest friends in the world, a much more positive attitude, memories to last a lifetime, and experiences that have shaped my life in ways I never thought possible.

This also led me to my jewelry business. My director held a jewelry party one night in 2005... I'd never even heard the name of the line before I went that night... I didn't even know it was a jewelry party! And once I got there, I was a little disappointed because I never wore any jewelry. But after 3 hours of trying everything on and "oohing" and "aahing" over every piece, I placed a small order and thought I was in the clear. Then the advisor asked if I wanted any earrings - they were on sale after all. I politely declined because I'd always had very sensitive ears and anything I wore made them burn, itch, and swell. She stated that she had a lot of luck with this line's earrings and offered to lend me a pair for the week. I took them - with every intention of proving her wrong! Lucky for me, I couldn't! I barely remembered that I was wearing them by the end of the week... they were comfortable and not at all irritating. So when my "wish list" tripled from going through the catalog again, I asked her how I could get everything at a discount because I couldn't afford the entire catalog!

We sat down with her manager and I grilled them for hours because I already had a home-based business that I loved! What was the catch? (There was none!) How did they measure up? (A+!) When could I get started (Now!) And I haven't doubted my decision for an instant!

It was while I was doing a booth with my jewelry display in early 2009 that I stumbled across a fantastic line of purses that I had seen on TV just a few weeks earlier. They were the perfect size and shape, with interchangeable "shells" and handles to match the purse to any outfit or mood in just a few seconds! The lady representing them gave me a quick demonstration - and after a few minutes, I would drag everyone that stopped by my jewelry display to her purse booth and gave the presentation myself! I was hooked and thus began my next great adventure in accessorizing!

I have made so many wonderful friends in my businesses, paid off thousands of dollars in credit card debt, now have "fun money" to spend rather than living paycheck-to-paycheck, and tons of fun doing what I love everyday!
